Your Guide: Katherine O’Brien, MA CCPS
Ms. O’Brien holds a BS in Industrial Engineering and Management Sciences from Northwestern University, the number 4 engineering school in the USA at that time, and the Ivy of the Midwest. She also holds an MA in Theology and Christian Ministry from Franciscan University of Steubenville. Additionally, she has over twelve years of teaching experience.
Katherine started her college consulting business in 2004 and since then has been helping students achieve their college dreams. She has had students accepted at universities across the country, including Harvard, USC, Cornell, Carnegie Mellon, UC Berkeley, Penn, Notre Dame, and Georgia Tech.
Katherine holds her Certified College Planning Specialist (CCPS) designation from the National Institute of Certified College Planning Specialists. NICCP advisors are professionals with extensive training and continuing education in college admissions, financial aid, and funding.
Katherine also belongs to the Western Association of College Admissions Counseling (WACAC). Members of WACAC include secondary, post-secondary and independent counselors working at public, private, and parochial schools, colleges and universities in California and Nevada as well as others concerned with supporting the transition from high school to college.
She is a member of The Boy Scouts of America, the San Diego North Chamber of Commerce Education Committee, the Del Norte High School PTSA, and the Bnillionaires chapter of BNI (Business Network International).
